“Goin’ courting” has never been as much fun as in this rip-roaring stage version of the popular MGM movie, adapted by Lawrence Kasha and David Landay. Millie is a young bride living in the 1850s Oregon wilderness whose plan to civilize and marry off her six rowdy brothers-in-law to ensure the success of her own marriage backfires when the brothers, in their enthusiasm, kidnap six women from a neighboring town to be their brides.

Bursting with the rambunctious energy of the original film, “Seven Brides For Seven Brothers” is all boisterous fun and romance that harkens back to the glory days of the movie musical. This Colorful show is filled with such memorable songs as “Bless Your Beautiful Hide,” “Wonderful Day,” “Goin’ Courtin’,” “Love Never Goes Away,” “Sobbin’ Women,” and “We Gotta Make it Through the Winter.”  New songs by Al Kasha and Joel Hirschhorn have been added to this melody-drenched classic film score by Johnny Mercer and Gene de Paul that includes wistful ballads, charming comic turns and rousing show-stopping dances.

“Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” will be presented by Up In Lights Productions for a great summer musical.  Come join this hilarious cast in Loveland at Roberta Price Auditorium at 7:30pm Aug 13, 14, 20, 21, and at 2:30pm Aug 22.
