Disney Channel's smash hit musical comes to life on the Rialto Theater stage July 13, 14, 20 and 21 at 7:30pm and July 15 and 22 at 2:30pm! Presented by Up In Lights Productions, High School Musical is the hottest musical of the summer. Beginning as a made-for-cable TV movie in 2006 High School Musical has a soundtrack that was last year’s top-selling CD; the DVD has sold more then 7 million copies; an arena concert tour has stormed across the US and now it’s coming to the Rialto Theater stage in full-version! Come Bop to the Top with the cast as Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez come to life with their friends in a production you’ll never forget. The cast is made up of 35 incredibly talented performers from all across Northern Colorado. With a live band, outstanding dance numbers and a solid cast, audiences of all ages will be able to enjoy the memorable numbers from the movie such as Start of Something New, Getcha Head in the Game, We’re All In This Together, Bop To the Top and many more. On the front steps of East High, it’s the first day after winter break the Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians and Skater Dudes find their cliques, recount their vacations, and look forward to the New Year. Basketball team captain Troy (Oliver Tromp) discovers that Gabriella (Breanna Kreager) a girl he met singing karaoke with on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. The two are worlds apart but can’t deny their new found love for singing and interest in each other as they contemplate auditioning for the school musical. When their friends find out, Troy’s best friend Chad (Josh Kolb) and Gabriella’s new friend Taylor (Cassandra Powell) discourage them from moving forward with their plans. But it’s Ryan (Michael MacBeth) and his twin sister Sharpay (Claire Doughman), considered the schools top theatrical talents, who really try to thwart their efforts. Come find out how Gabriella and Troy’s decision to audition turns their world and their school upside down. Getcha Head in the Game stands to be an audience favorite as our 8 basketball player’s show off their basketball tricks and skills, convincing Troy to keep his eye on the prize. While the hilarious Stick to the Status Quo has everyone in the school confessing their deepest desires. Zeke (Juan Holquin), a jock with a desire to bake, Martha Cox (Katie Lock), a brainiac who can’t resist her natural call to be a Hip Hop Dancer, and Ripper (Brad Redford), a skater who secretly loves to play the cello. Other cast members include: Kate DeSalvo as Kelsie, CJ Kelly as Jack Scott, Nancy Dreckman as Ms. Darbus, and Dana as Coach Bolton. Thespians are Kelsey Satchell as Susan, Jennifer Wowries as Cathy, Samantha Cooley as Alaina, Victoria McGrath as Cyndra, Jake Weber and Cody Cross. Cheerleaders are Lexi Newgord, Allison Drenkow, Alaina Vigil, Casey Kleeman, and Jessica Dorcey. Jocks are David Flanigan and Jason and Josh Nelson as James. Skaters include, Brinn McNally as Mongo, Steffan Scrogan as Moderator, Kaitlyn Amick and Mandie Vigil. Brainiacs are Kelsey Amick, Kiara Whitney and Elizabeth Velasquez.
